Environmentally friendly cruise boats at Hardanger fjord

This can be the future solution for cruise boats at the famous Norwegian fjord. Just now, Wärtsilä and Hardcruise are developing a new concept for environmentally friendly cruise solutions.

Wärtsilä and Hardcruise in the Maritime CleanTech cluster have received a grant from Innovation Norway to do a pilot to look into what kind of ships a new environmentally friendly cruise ship in the Hardanger fjord can use, and of course what kind of engines and propulsion systems available. Just now they are considering both electrical and hybrid engine systems.

It will take time to develop the new cruise ships for the Hardanger fjord, and the two partners are looking for additional partners to reach their aim to build these kind of ships.

This is one of many exciting solution Norwegian maritime companies are looking into and developing right now. If you are interested in new clean technology, western Norway have many interesting and innovative companies to explore.
